" I have this modular a few months and I can't miss him. My favorite part is the barber shop, with the mirror, the scissors, sink, wigs, ...
An other nice part is the cafe with a darts board, pool table, trophies and the fan above.
The only thing i miss in this set is a mailbox for anonymous mailings for the detective. Most other modulars have a mailbox which is missing in this set.
9,5/10 "

" i just finished the Detective's Office and I must say that the detail was wonderful. I own 7 other modular sets and with each new one that is released the detail just gets better and more innovative. Yes, I have noticed that the newer sets seem to be a little smaller than the Town Hall, Grand Emporium or Green Grocer, for example, but for display purposes, I really enjoy the smaller size sets. The detail is what makes the building experience so enjoyable. Yes, the room sizes were definitely smaller but aesthetically it's really a very attractive set. I don't mind paying a little extra for the smaller set.. In my opinion, the designer probably put forth a lot of extra effort during the design process (i.e. fan on top of filing cabinet and hall tree with hat, pool sign, etc.). I just ordered the Brick Bank and am looking forward to receiving it in the near future. This set is a must have for anyone who enjoys the modular sets. It's a really nice addition to my collection. " My wife made a huge mistake at Christmas having coupled my love of Star Wars with my childhood hobby of building Lego and bought me teh Millennium Falcon 75105. This turned me back onto the Lego hobby and this was my first "real" Lego build in 16-20 years. Very intricate with lots of little hidden aspects. Overall a great build that took me a little over 6 hours to complete.
As this is more of a display piece for me, I didn't mind the smaller rooms and hard to reach place which would make play-ability very difficult. This one build led me to buy the next 4 modular buildings that I could get my hands on for retail prices.
I would really enjoy if Lego made a mansion/large house next and would release more than 1 of these per year! "

" As my son gets older, I've been shopping for more and more Lego products, so it was only a matter of time before I would end up getting a nice large set like this. I've noticed that a lot of people compare this set unfavorably to the others, but I looked at all the sets, and this was the coolest looking to me. I like that it looks like a city block with a combination of businesses and rooms that could serve as small apartments. It is a little hard to play in the rooms, but I much prefer the realism of the enclosed rooms than having an open back like in the normal City sets. In the end, I really just like the idea of there being an actual Lego city to go along with the myriad of police and fire sets that my son is sure to get as gifts. To that end, I'd rather get more basic city buildings first. The Pet Shop will be my next expert modular for that reason. My suggestion on the feedback survery was for there to be a mansion or apartment building. Make no mistake, though, this set really does look extremely nice, and is the best looking set I ever owned. If the others look better I'll be pretty happy. "
