"Overall, this set is a an excellent "starter" set for any fans of Minecraft willing to buy Lego Minecraft products. The star of this set is the interior of Steve's house, and rightly so. There is a plethora of detail inside the house. Here are some Pros and cons of this set:
Pros: Very detailed Solid structure, not fragile Re-positionable items (bed, furnace, crafting table, etc.) Capable of connecting to other sets Easy to see inside house Cool minifigures Steve's tools Nice door Playability
Cons: Wooden tools and not stone tools Odd rooftop (How could grass get onto the roof?) Slightly misleading set title, since building this in Minecraft would likely take longer than the first day Creeper body
In conclusion, the only thing this set really lacks is reality regarding the likelihood of a player actually building this for their first night, since building a house like this in Minecraft would likely take most players several days. Other then that, this set is very good, and I would certainly recommend this set to anyone looking for a decent set to play with for a long time. Another good job from Lego. Keep up the good work!"

"This Lego® Minecraft® building set is amazing. Everything is close to the game, Steve, the Creeper and the PIg are just perfect. This is the first Minecraft® set I have bought and definitely won't be the last. The roof doesn't 'clip' down, which allows for more customisation options for it. The Creepers' sides are little flat, green blocks, so you could take those off and put other blocks on the Creeper. It's definitely a well made product, I would recommend this to anyone that loves Minecraft® or Lego®."

"I have 2 young twin daughters (aged 4 and a bit) and so have been enjoying helping them build their Lego Friends and Lego Disney Princess models, having loved playing with Lego as a child myself. So, having seen the new Minecraft models and having been known to dabble with the Minecraft game, I had a moment of pure selfishness and bought The Crafting Box, The First Night and The Farm, which blew me away. So, I ordered The Cave and The Mine, which I am waiting for. Singly, the sets are lovely and, although not a direct representation of in-game assets, these Lego sets provide a very pleasant representation of Minecraft. Where they especially shine is when you combine one or more sets together and the rebuild possibilities become immense. Unlike most modern Lego sets, most pieces are fairly standard blocks, which is unsurprising, given the theme, but it is the characters and those few (relatively speaking) custom parts that bring the sets to life. Of all the sets, I think that The First Night has possibly the least custom rebuild potential than the others, given the subject matter, but it is a lovely set nonetheless. Highly recommended."
