" I just wanna say right off the bat, many of reviewers are saying they don't like that there are gaps in the cockpit. But I think it's MEANT to be like that because 1.It gives it a more pirate feel because its like the pirates built it themselves with scraps. 2.Lego doesn't just leave gaps for no reason, because obviously they could've fully closed it if they wanted to, it's just supposed to go with the overall look. Now, the only REAL complaint I have is that Lloyd doesn't have an armor piece, and his weapon kind of sucks. Other than that, this set is great. "

" This set is exactly what you get if you try to build a fighter plane from spare pirate ship parts. Let's start about minifigures. Lloyd itself is a classical ninja like others in a set, only in green. He comes with a gold chainsaw weapon and three shurikens (technically four, but one of those is used to built that chainsaw stick). What is definitely cool about him is his jetpack, notably the flame parts, which look really cool. Not that he must hold it at least in one hand via handles, no attachment to his back is provided. He also comes with 'Trapped Kai in a blade' weapon, a collectible from the sets of 6th generation of Ninjago.
Flintlocke's minifigure is really cool and what you expected getting when crossing an early plane era pilot with a pirate. What I particularly like about him is his mustache.
The plane itself is very well designed and fun to build. The core is build via SNOT (studs not on top) technique (the chests are attached this way to plane and they also partially connect the tail to it). Wings are attached to a core via Technic connectors and blocks with holes. What I like really much is the mechanism dropping the dynamites. It's a sliding mechanism, which opens treasure chests by pulling chains connected to it. The model also provides a lot ofpirate-themed pieces (a lot of antique pirate guns, 4 pirat ship windows, two treasure chests, 2 rotten fish etc.). Only two minor flaws (not important for me, but might be decisive for others) are an ampty space between fully closed cabin and its window, and 14 stickers that are provided. Otherwise the jet is very rigid due to SNOT technique and very fun to play with. "

" I love lego pirates. And its the reason why I bought my first Ninjago set. Which isint even close to be my fav lego series. This set though has lots of pieces that any new and old pirate collector would love to have. Im pretty sure I will re-buy this one. Lots of pirate weapons too.
Now I personally do not like stickers. But then again by not using them I ended up getting few good parts that I could use later on in other builds. In total there is 14 stickers and all com systems are stickers. Which ended up to be bad and good thing xD I still hate stickers.
Cockpit isn't sealed like it was previously stated in another review. But also "glass" feels very fragile. This combo kinda makes me unease with the cockpit structure. It dosent look good either. Rest of the ship on other hand looks really cool and works fine. In my opinion it handles play well. Also colors are really nice overall. Even if there is 3 shades of brown. Which in this case isint a bad thing.
Hidden parts are often orange which I didint like. I just feel that since you dont see them it would be nicer if they were more commonly used colors like brown or black. Other thing is barrel caps. Those should be same color as barrel. Since Barrel and their caps are kinda like set inside the set.
For pirates fans that want more weapons and pieces for future building and maybe were hoping more real lego pirates. I have a feeling this is one of the best Ninjago Pirates sets. Overal this is really good set.. Ninjas?? Well I have nothing to say about those.
Pirate figure looks really nice. "

It is great to see that your love of pirates has brought you to your first NINJAGO set. As you mentioned this set has a lot of pirate type elements that make it feel like a flying pirate ship. While you did not enjoy all of the colors the designes used nor the stickers that help with detail I am glad to see that you found many aspects of the set that appeals to you.
