"I bought 4 of these; Tahu, Kopaka, Onua, and Lord of Skull Spiders. I was very disappointed when they originally got rid of Bionicle and replaced it with Hero Factory. There are many pros and cons to Lego bringing back Bionicle. Pro, the joints and other parts are much stronger and more durable then they used to be. Con, this is really Hero Factory but with a more popular name. Con, the mask concept is just awful, I do not like the idea of it being clipped to the side of the head. The original Bionicles had their mask clipped into the face not on the sides. I ended up returning Kopaka and Onua because of the cons I found in these new "Bionicles""

"I personally wouldn't buy this product for myself because of the price of it, and due to the fact that i have no idea about bionicle sets whatsoever. However, as my family know that i have a huge love of lego, i received this as a christmas present because they didn't know what else to get for me. Now, i have read reviews that go into detail about how it differs from previous bionicle sets, and that they are disappointed about certain points, but please excuse my lack of knowledge about this particular theme while i express just how pleased i am with this set.
Firstly, i have to say, that the size of this product is much bigger than i thought it would be, when i saw the box i thought that it may be about half the size that it was but i was impressed. Then there is the fact that the colours are just beautiful, the colour combination is very good and doesn't make it look cheap and tacky like it sometimes can. In fact, it actually makes it look pretty sleek. The other thing i am very happy with is the fact that there are several ways in which Tahu can be posed, which allows for better playability when bought for kids, and just overall impressiveness when bought for display.
Overall, i am over the moon with this product and i feel that it was worth the money. Very glad that i got this bought for me and it has made me consider buying other bionicle products in the future. 10/10"
I would recommend this to a friend!

"I loved Hero Factory and collected many and was sad when it was canceled. Then I saw the new Bionicles! I new I had to get him so here he is! After waiting a long time he finally came! After a nice build right away i notice that he is tall about as tall as Furno XL, and is very stiff at the ankles so I was not happy as he would not balance his feet well and you would have to move the feet to balance yourself. Anyway he has a cool function with the dual swords and surfboard! That new feature is something old fans of the line will know while new ones like me have never seen its like before. All in all it was a good deal and well worth it. Now the pros and cons. Pros: great swords cool surf board nice small swords really suited up look skull spider gold mask Cons: stiff ankles (they have the rubber connector on the ankles) shoulder pads gear function ( bionicle fans will love this but being a HF fan at first i am new and do not like it)"
"Tahu is arguably the most iconic Bionicle character, being its poster boy ever since he debuted in 2001. The 2001 version had only 25 pieces, while this one has 89. He is also the tallest set of the 2015 winter wave. The problem with this set is the price. He has 89 parts, and has the lowest piece count of the three $20 Toa Sets. Gali, who is $14.99, has two less pieces than Tahu, yet Tahu is $5 more expensive than her.
PLEASE NOTE: If you don't want to read the lengthy amount of stuff I've written about this set, you can skip to the bottom and read the summary.
Tahu, however, makes up for that in size. As far as looks go, Tahu is very aesthetically pleasing (at least on the front). However, the backs of his lower legs are completely exposed, and look rather unsightly. His mask also possesses large chin, so, when looking at him, he looks like he doesn't have a neck. Poseability is pretty good (except for the head; he can't look down, due to the chin I mentioned earlier). The color scheme is superb, in my opinion. The gold, trans-neon orange, and red go very well together, and so does his golden mask, as it doesn't look out of place when he's wearing it. Unlike Kopaka, where you just see a flood of gold in the upper torso, shoulders, and face, the gold on Tahu is very well distributed. He also has armor on his back, something that was uncommon until the last few waves.
He has two modes. In one mode, he holds two very large (but cool) lava swords, which are new for this year. His golden blades are positioned on his back. His second mode allows him to combine the two lava swords into a surfboard, and use the golden blades as weapons.
Having all six of the Toa, I have to say that Tahu is my favorite. Here is a summary of why:
SUMMARY: Pros: He's Tahu, who's an iconic character. Color scheme Gold Mask looks good on him Cool weapons The ability to create a "lava board" for him to surf on Size (He's the tallest of the Toa)
Cons: Overpriced (though the size partially makes up for that) His head can't look down, due to his huge chin Legs are exposed on the back
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to relive the nostalgia of the original Bionicle line, and also to anyone new to Bionicle. Tahu is a great place to start. If Tahu's too expensive for you, I would recommend Gali and Lewa who are $5 cheaper. Though not as large, I think that they are almost equally as good. Anyway, thanks for hearing my thoughts on this great set. See ya!"
