" I got this set for Christmas, and it was a great gift. I think that this set is a must have for Bionicle fans that want to have a good collection. Before the Pros and Cons I will talk about the set in general.
Mask Maker:
The gold color scheme makes me think of Rocka from Hero Factory, and that is a good thing in my book as he was my favorite.
He looks like a Protector so he fits in as his role of leader of all the tribes, rather then just one.
The hammer of power is a great weapon as you can have him shoot a barrage of fire at an enemy before going for a mighty hammer strike with the action feature. I was at first a fan of Hero Factory so I like that you can pose the arms almost like normal but still have a cool action.
The shield is great and not great at the same time, first that saw piece is overused as a shield, however the use of the golden piece on top cover most of the saw piece and you get a really cool royal shield which Mask Maker needs.
The mask is great as again it is golden like Rocka so for me at least it looks like a great hero should. I like it better on him then the mask of creation as it looks more normal.
The chest is another great thing with the new armor add on in gold along with the queen beast shoulder pads.
Skull Grinder:
Now here is where the set is really cool with other sets. It is a Villain so powerful that he can wipe out all the heroes in one blow.
I really like his staff I can make Toa go flying. He is finally a strong Villain unlike the Lord of Skull Spiders. I fell like he could take out some Toa and win the battle for evil, especially with his army of skull warriors.
His mask is very important in making him look evil along with all the bony pieces that go in to his frame.
His sword is great as it can serve as a secondary weapon fine and can help him take on six Toa and win.
The gear system really helps this figure but also hurts it. He can make his staff go up and down a bit but the figure can do some poses fine but often it will fall back down. If i were making this figure I would have the gear system the same with the grey round pieces on both sides still but have the main arm not connected to it have the small sword work.
The horns really add to his character and help him add to the evil type of guy he really is.
Finally the mask of creation:
As I have been a fan of Hero Factory first I am not a mask collector like some people are as in Hero Factory you call them helmets and move on with the figure. Bionicle reboot sets have lots of extra masks included and so this mask is like the mask of mask in the story. I think it looks really cool with all the runes on it and the detail. The cool thing is the set comes with a special mask stand to hold it while they fight over it. the stand is simple but works fine and shows how important it really is.
Overall I really like this set as it let me have great battles with my Toa in addition to giving me a new Rocka to really like and enjoy.

" $29.99 needs to change a little bit down. But it is worth to get with 2 guys and a mask that is a collector edition. Weapon for the skull grinder is to heavy, hammer gun was a great idea. Functions are a good idea to bring back from 2001 sets. Glad you guys decided to bring them back, these are all great sets, but don't have. Kopaka and Skull Basher are also a great set as well. This is the set that you might want to get. "

" So I just bought this set a couple hours ago and when I was organizing all the pieces and found that the Mask of Creation was missing. At first I thought that it was stuck in the box or that I misplaced it somewhere but after searching for almost half an hour I knew that the piece was missing. I was really disappointed when I didn't get the piece because I really wanted the Mask of Creation. Hopefully I can get a replacement piece soon because this set would complete my collection of the Lego Bionicle Sets that I spent a lot of money on. "

" As a preface, I've been a fan of Bionicle since the old days of 2001, with Takua, Jaller, all those guys. (TLG, if you're reading, I love the little nods to G1 in the videos, such as the Mask of Time and Kopaka's remark about Lewa not being the Master of Air. Rest assured, I'm formulating plenty of ideas about G2, and who everyone really is.) That said, when I heard that the new Bionicle line would be a reboot, not a continuation, my hopes dropped a little, and I didn't come to expect much of the sets...
This, however, was the first G2 set I bought, and I was completely blown away.
THE BUILD:
While the build itself is nothing particularly amazing or hard (cough cough Kardas, Skirmix, Axonn from G1) it was just thoroughly enjoyable. It was a welcome departure from the monotony of the last few years with the Inika, Mahri, Mistika, and Phantoka. The functions are just great, serving as a nod to the Toa Metru's arm-swinging, while the new CCBS building system allows the arms to actually stay in their positions. Very enjoyable build altogether, both for Kulta the Skull Grinder and Ekimu.
THE PIECES:
While the pieces overall are great, here are a few of my favorites:
-Ekimu's Protector mask: The gold and the blue meld together perfectly for a rather visually appealing mask.
-Ekimu's shoulder armor: Provides nice, rounded bulk in general.
-Ekimu's hammer-launcher: Aagh I love this thing. So nice and compact. The only downside is how easily the ammo gets lost.
-Kulta's axe blades: These are wicked-looking weapons, perfect for mask stealing. I could see these being used for a MOC of last-gen Toa Nidhiki's scythe.
-Kulta's bone joints and translucent rib-cage armor: These only serve to underscore the skeleton motif. Great detail.
-Kulta's skull mask: Goshdarn this thing looks amazing. Stuck in a twisted grin and eerily similar to a real-life skeleton, this mask just oozes evil.
And last but not least...
-The Mask of Creation. I absolutely ADORE this thing. The detail put into it is just stunning. There are runes adorned all over it (a new Matoran language?) and the angular eyes make whoever's wearing it have an air of lordship and dominion. Amazing piece. If you can't buy the whole set, just find some way to get the Mask of Creation.
CONS:
I'm only including cons here because the pros list would stretch on for ages. The few cons I found were:
-Ekimu's kinda dinky-looking, for the "legendary mask maker" I was hoping for something bigger and better. (From what I've heard though, there's a summer set coming up entitled "Ekimu the Mask Maker"... we can hope.
-Kulta's weapon is kinda heavy, so it tends to fall down
-I would've preferred more friction joints
-Kulta tends to fall over
Yeah, that's about it. It's an excellent set, and I'm looking forward to the coming years of Bionicle! "
