" Welcome to my eighth Lego product review. I am reviewing set #8154 Brick Street Customs, a Racers set that is not available anymore in the United States.
When I first saw this set new in a Lego catalog, I was struck with a sudden desire to own this set. The price tag was a bit large for me then, but I was able to buy it, and it is still my number one favorite set.
At the time, I was not quite old enough to write a review. By the time I was old enough, the link was gone . . . or so I thought. Now, I just learned that the link still exists-you just have to type it in. Thus, I can still write a review on this set.
I am going to review each car and building separately, I think that that will be more organized.
The first car the instructions tell you to build is the white and lime green 'Soft Drinks' van. It looks great, it has nice color scheme, and is not too hard to build, but it doesn't look like it can quite compete with some of the other cars in racing. And it uses 8 stickers for detail - and some are difficult to align properly. I great car nonetheless.
The next car is the sleek dark grey and orange car. This car is very easy and fast to build, and yet manages to incorporate 12 stickers in its design. Oh well. It looks good and fits right in with the rest. Interesting color scheme too.
The third car is the black and yellow one. It is pretty easy to build, looks very good and has a nice color scheme. The yellow stripes down the center is terrific. This car has 10 stickers.
The next car is the red fire chief's car. The color scheme is one expected of a fire chief's car, and it looks great. The building, of course, is relatively easy. This car includes 7 stickers.
The next is the dark grey hot rod featured in the 'Crosstown Craze' Lego online game. This car isn't difficult to build and looks nice. The color scheme is just a little bit dull, though. This car uses 9 stickers for detail.
The sixth Tiny Turbo you build is the sleek black and blue car. The color scheme is fantastic. I love this car's design. What more can a Tiny Turbo offer? One downside, however, is that 11 stickers are used. They do make this car look nicer, though.
Then one comes to the white semi truck. It looks very much like a real one and is not very difficult to build. The color scheme is nice too. It goes well with the rest of the set. 8 stickers are used to put detail into this Tiny Turbo.
The semi truck comes with a trailer. It has an interesting build, looks okay, holds up to two cars, and goes along with the semi truck's color scheme. It has only 5 stickers-but two in particular are tricky to align. I have a few problems with this trailer, though. The fold-down ramps in the back don't work particularly well, but that is not a big problem. I need to explain something before telling you my largest problem with the trailer, however.
The white odd-looking plates that the cars sit on are chosen because, if you notice, the edge of it is raised a little. This helps cars to stay on-and it is not too obvious either. Also, this piece has a flat, 1x8 portion down the middle of it for tires to roll smoothly. The designers used this piece so that the two flat sections are the width a tiny turbo's wheels are apart. Everything is great, right? Hold on a minute.
You see, my explanation left out the 1x8 section on each of those white pieces that have studs on them. The tires have a smooth place to roll, but none of the cars in this set have enough ground clearance to roll without scraping against the studs. That is my biggest problem with this set. And most cars that do have the necessary ground clearance have wheels that are too wide to fit on the trailer. At least a car can sit on the trailer just fine.
The next thing to build is the building called the tuner shop, but there is also a showroom. The showroom can hold one car in front of the large window, but with the same problems as the trailer. The tuner shop has a few car parts that seem to go together but not with any of the other cars. There are also some wheels without tires on display. Two giant signs are on top of the building. A lot of stickers-18 of them-are used in this building. Unfortunately, this building is taller than the others because it uses plates instead of baseplates.
Then we switch to the second instruction booklet and start on the last Tiny Turbo car of the set-the black one. I like everything about it-it looks great-but some may not like the 14 stickers that accompany this car.
Next is the gas station. I has a soft drinks machine, a stand labeled 'Speed Boost Bottles', a fire extinguisher, an opening door, an extra tire, and two places to pump gas. 17 stickers adorn this building. Nice building!
The last part of this set is the workshop. It has a car lift, but with problems similar to the trailer. It has a wall with tires on it that swings out for easy access. It has a few other things too, like tires that fit the wheels from the tuner shop. Only five stickers are used.
I also had fun buying extra parts and wheels from Pick a Brick. I especially enjoyed buying these parts, and I used them to make one off-roader of almost any of the Tiny Turbos in this set:
Element ID: 302226 x2
Element ID: 366026 x2
Element ID: 4211525 x12
I rated the level of difficulty average because although 1000+ pieces are involved the building is usually pretty simple.
I gave Play Experience a 5 because I still have a blast playing with it, and pretty much any Tiny Turbo goes well with this set.
I gave Value a Money a 5 because I think you get your money's worth with this set, especially if you add more Tiny Turbos to it.
Overall, I rated this set a 5 because it is a lot of fun with few major problems. One thing I should point out now is if I'm not mistaken, there are 124 stickers total in this set. I'm sure there are people out there who dislike stickers, especially more than one hundred of them. But that didn't bother me so much, I think it's worth the time to put the stickers on. Excellent job Lego!

" Great set in Tiny Turbos scale, with well-designed cars (including a really cool black and yellow Ford Mustang-style car), a fantastic custom van (white with a green stripe), a truck capable of carrying two cars and three buildings.
Lots of useful parts, especially long white beams and curved-top windows for buildings. Numbered bags too, so you can build it a step at a time. The garage / workshop section has a working ramp made from Technic parts. The buildings could easily be used in a Lego town I reckon.
The only downside is that there are LOTS of stickers, which arrived creased in the box. Plus it would be nice if the truck was about an inch longer, as it would then hold three cars rather than two and a half.
On the whole an excellent value set, although I'm not sure why it comes with a Fire Chief car (I turned it into a custom estate / station wagon instead!) "

" The tittle is basicly what it is.But what the tittle dosnt say is how awesome all eight of the cars and trucks are.
There is a van an eighteen wheeler whith a trailer so you could load your hot rod up and go to the races. There is also a very uniqe van , It had never before thought or a van out of legos but that just shows how far ahead of me that the lego copany is. the rest of the cars are awesome to but it would take me a long time to go into detail with them to because they are so great! At first I thought it was a little pricy but I soon realized you get a lot for your money.

" this set was great to have, with 7 cars, a truck and trailer, and 3 different room-things. my only problem with it was that my trailer came with 2 of the wrong pieces, but i was able to build it anyway (it was missing 2 3x1 plates and had 2 4x1 plates). the cars all have different colors, and you can fit 2 cars on the truck's trailer.
Pros:
-7 cars + 1 truck
-more pieces and same price as street racing set
-big buildings
-LOTS of extra parts and other extras built into the set
-working lift
-gas station has 2 sides
-great design on yellow, black, green, blue and red cars
-drink machine in front of gas station!
-smooth riding tires/smoothly working parts
-color schemes are great
Cons:
STICKERS!!!
-grey car is an overused design
-orange /grey car isn't designed THAT well...
-hard too keep some pieces on behind big builimg (the sign in the window)
-i had some missing pieces, but they shouldn't be a problem for anyone else
th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- that's all folks! "

" This set is just plain amazing. It has everything you need for your tiny turbos, including a car display, part shop, workshop, and gas station. This set has some of the coolest cars yet for some races or stunt shows. Also, lots of amazing details are put in, such as a soda machine and tire rack! This set pretty much has everything! Also very fairly priced for 1000+ pieces. However, there is one downside: If you hate stickers, then this set is a nightmare come to life! This set is great and I would recommend it to anyone, whether it's to add to a Tiny Turbo collection, start one, or set up in a city. "
